Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE)

 

Since 2012, the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) has become the standard curriculum for local students hoping to enter university both at home and overseas. Each year, between 70,000 and 80,000 candidates register for the exam, the vast majority of which are attending public schools. Most students take the four Core Subjects of Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics and Liberal Studies, as well as two or three electives from a choice of twenty possibilities. Balancing such a diverse curriculum, coupled with the stress of needing to achieve increasingly higher grades for university admission, can be difficult for students. This is an issue Brighten tutors understand and want to help cope with.

 

As always, Brighten tutors advise preparing for the HKDSE as early as possible, which is why our tutors aim to foster the skills that exam success is based on, rather than simply offering last minute cramming. We provide tutorial support throughout the HKDSE course, as well as strategy, technique and past paper drills for the final examination. Our private or small-group tutorials allow our experienced teachers to focus on the individual needs and skills of each student, helping them to plan their studies, self-assess their time and workload management, and set personal goals for eventual success.
